All-New, All-Business Avengers #78 – ‘Keep Breathing, Keep Living’

Spider-Woman introduces Captain America and Moon Knight to the heretofore-unseen Young Avengers.
Spider-Woman mentions that Rage, himself, started his Avengers career as a trainee. In a reverse shot, we finally see these Young Avengers: Luis Garcia-Lopez (Michael Pena’s character from the MCU, with his Phil Wrede Marvel Action Figure Universe-bestowed last name, in honor of legendary comics artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez) in his Living Lightning form; the Fabulous Frog-Man; Miles Morales, in his Spider-Man mask; Ironheart; and Kate Bishop, the young Hawkeye.
Spider-Woman mentions that all four of these senior Avengers are available for assistance or counseling to the Young Avengers. Living Lightning asks who their escort is, and Spider-Woman encourages him to introduce himself.
Special Agent Everett Ross declines to introduce himself, but does complain about the cost of food in the present moment.
Frog-Man asks Miles if he is, indeed, the Miles Morales from Midtown High, and Miles tells him that he’s trying to keep his secret identity a secret.
Living Lightning invites Frog-Man to come hang out after the meeting. Ironheart and Kate Bishop wonder if Living Lightning knows how much older he is than the rest of the team.
After everybody else leaves, Spider-Woman and Moon Knight go to change into their more formal costumes, for their date night.
Moon Knight is “dressed” in his Mr. Knight getup, and Spider-Woman is now in a red-and-white costume (which is really just the action figure of Mary Jane’s Spinneret identity from the Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows comic series).
On the top half of the image, Agent Ross complains about getting distracted playing Wakandan Tetris on his phone. On the bottom half are the credits for the comic strip, citing the Unsplash users whose photographs were the background art, the ownership of Marvel by Disney, the creation of Marvel characters by actual human beings, and the figure photography/script/lettering by me, Phil Wrede.

I wanted to make sure I didn’t let the Living Lightning sit around without anything new to do, after I put so much time into preparing for his introduction to the Phil Wrede Marvel Action Figure Comic Universe! Even though he’s got to be more than twice the age of any of his fellow Young Avengers, he’s young at heart, right? That’s what counts?

Speaking of other Young Avengers, Miles and Frog-Man can’t seem to catch a break from one another, can they?

Eagle-eyed readers will notice that we’re following up here on an earlier meeting that Moon Knight and Spider-Woman had, when they met while trailing Baron Zemo and HYDRA along with Spider-Man. Spider-Man didn’t take too kindly to Moon Knight even being in a position to make a move on Spider-Woman, though she’s clearly never been interested in a spider-date. A guy who wears white robes and rants about Egyptian gods, apparently, she finds more attractive. Take some notes, Spider-Man!

Like most superhero comics, it’s fun to change up some heroes’ costumes every once and a while, and that’s been true of my comic, as much as any other! Of course, Moon Knight and Spider-Woman’s costume changes here are motivated by fun, rather than trauma.
