All-New, All-Capitol Avengers #117 – ‘That No One Dares to Say’

Posted on December 13, 2023December 3, 2023 by phil.wrede
Captain America flies out of the window of a tall-ish building, as broken glass and smoke swirls around him. The title of this comic strip, “All-New, All-Capitol Avengers Presents… ‘That No One Dates to Say’,” is visible on the right side of the image.
War Machine, Wolverine, and Moon Knight rush across Washington, D.C., in the sky and on the ground, toward Cap.
Spider-Woman swings on a web, heading for the site of the surprise attack on Cap. Meanwhile, Cap himself plummets toward the street, positioning his shield in front of his face.
Cap smashes into the Washington, D.C., street, taking the impact totally on his indestructible, vibranium-laced shield.
War Machine begins his landing sequence in the sky above, narrating the action below him to the other Avengers, who’ve not arrived on-site yet. From within the building, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Charles Little Sky tries to plan an escape, before the Avengers close around him.
Little Sky leaps out of the building, himself, and lands atop a motorcycle he carefully placed, in case he needed to make a quick getaway.
Spider-Woman and War Machine noticed Little Sky’s jump, and they discuss whether or not they’ve seen him before, and from where.
As Little Sky revs the engine of his motorcycle, his escape is cut dramatically short, when Cap’s shield smashed into the front wheel.
Little Sky flies through the air, his motorcycle on fire and smoking from the damage done to it.
Sprawled on the street, Little Sky tries to push himself to his feet, but is confronted by a seemingly no-worse-for-the-wear Captain America.

You know a simple sneak attack with a giant rifle wouldn’t be enough to keep Captain America down, right? Agent Little Sky’s been evading the Avengers ever since he made his first appearance, but nobody’s good luck can hold out forever! Well, maybe Domino’s…

Is the Mayor going to get a chance to face his would-be-assassin, after the Avengers take him into custody? How’s he going to react when he recognizes a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who’d been assigned to help him destroy the Avengers aimed a rifle at his head?

Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
