Phasma’s already discarded one of her new recruits, and promoted another one! As far as I know, she didn’t kill the one that isn’t in this strip, which I think already makes her a better boss/supervisor/manager/commander than Darth Vader or Kylo Ren!

The entire story behind this strip is that I wanted to see how my Mandalorian would avoid a Star Destroyer and its TIE Fighter patrol. I’d say he did a pretty good job!

One of the things that I loved about The Mandalorian, at least in the first season, was that it existed more or less independently from the saga of the Skywalkers. Sure, there were references to other places and people we’ve seen and loved, but the events of a galactic civil war are bound to ripple…

Speaking of Rogue Squadron (as I did in this tale’s previous installment), it’s probably little surprise that I’ve always loved the space dogfights in Star Wars, so I’m thrilled to get to offer my own entry in those sequences today!

Like many boys who owned a Nintendo 64, I thought the Shadows of the Empire game was pretty awesome. Sure, it peaked really early with the Battle of Hoth level, and never really lived up to the promise of that first level, but Dash Rendar’s ship was awesome! So awesome that I had to incorporate…

I’ve always had a soft spot for the faceless cannon fodder characters, though I’d obviously prefer it if they weren’t of the evil and/or super-toxic variety, as most stormtroopers probably are. And, if regular old Imperial stormtroopers are evil and toxic, just imagine how much worse Red Fury troopers are! Thousands of times worse, I…

This is my first real toy comic project, the initial idea from which everything else on this website sprang. And, we have the first season of The Mandalorian show on Disney+ to thank for it. My imagination hadn’t been fired by anything the way that first season of the show set my brain alight; I…

Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
