Star Wars – A Mandalorian, Episode IV: Once More Into the Stars

The heavy Mandalorian’s ship - a YT-2400 freighter, the Clever Dragon - flies away from the planet he’s escaped. As the navicomputer calculates for the jump to lightspeed, he’s alerted about approaching hostiles.
Two TIE Fighters streak toward the freighter!
The TIE Fighters open fire on the Clever Dragon, and the heavy Mandalorian steers his craft out of the line of laser blasts just in time.
As the freighter’s guns charge, the heavy Mandalorian has to keep dodging the TIE Fighters. Finally, though, one drifts into the line of fire of the Clever Dragon’s gun turrets, and he fires!
One TIE Fighter gets blasted apart, but unfortunately, the remaining fighter lands a hit of its own on the Clever Dragon’s lower gun turret, knocking it out of commission.
The freighter keeps dodging, and dodging, until one good shot presents itself. With a blast of laser fire, the other TIE is blown to bits!
Just as he thinks he can relax, the heavy Mandalorian hears a noise coming from the cargo bay… In the lower right corner of the image are the credits of the comic strip, identifying where the stock photographs (for backgrounds and VFX) were sourced, crediting George Lucas for creating Star Wars, and identifying me (Phil Wrede) as the scriptwriter, character photographer, and letterer of the comic.

Speaking of Rogue Squadron (as I did in this tale’s previous installment), it’s probably little surprise that I’ve always loved the space dogfights in Star Wars, so I’m thrilled to get to offer my own entry in those sequences today!
