All-New, All-Business Avengers #81 – ‘This Is For The Hearts Still Beating’

New York City’s Mayor Gruenwald (named for longtime Marvel Comics writer/editor Mark Gruenwald) and chief of police Shooter (named for Marvel editor/writer Jim Shooter) sit in front of their computers, waiting for a video meeting to start. The title of this comic strip, “All-New, All-Business Avengers Presents… ‘This Is For The Hearts Still Beating’,” is visible at the bottom of the image.
The Mayor makes a confrontational declaration to the police chief, but the man truly responsible for the violence and danger that has angered the mayor, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent G.W. Bridge, belatedly signs onto the call.
As the mayor and Bridge start shouting at one another, Shooter signs off the call.
Bridge accuses the mayor of being unable to live with the consequences of the decisions he makes.
Bridge signs off the call, but before the mayor has the chance to shut the meeting down, Tony Stark signs in.
Stark tells the mayor that he knows that he played a part in what went down in the city streets in the previous comic strip, and that he’s on the lookout for the abducted Moon Knight.
The mayor signs out of the call, after denying Stark’s accusations.
Stark pivots to his own call with Spider-Woman and Kate Bishop, who each were present, to varying degrees, at Moon Knight’s capture by S.H.I.E.L.D.
Stark also loops in She-Hulk, who has already begun legal actions to try and free their fellow Avenger.

    The mayor is never satisfied, is he? There’s always more he can do to consolidate power, or sideline his opponents. It wasn’t enough that he got special government operatives to declare war against the Avengers; they did it in too public a way for his liking!

    I might not agree with the mayor on much, but I do think that having the least number of superhero brawls in downtown is best for the city, and the citizens. Public funds can do so much more than constantly rebuild destroyed roads and buildings, after all! Climate change is demanding plenty of that already, after all…
