Here, in Part 2 of the superhero defense of Ukraine, the Red Guardian and Sunfire hold the line against some more approaching tanks. Well, Red Guardian holds the line. Sunfire pretty much blows it up.
I don’t have anything more sophisticated to write than I did for the first part. Like a lot of people, I continue to be appalled at the news of what the fighting is doing to the people who were, again, just trying to live their lives, and I wish the apparatus of the world order was a lot less creaky and significantly more effective, so that the last atrocity could really be the last one, and not simply the most recent one.
(On a much lighter note, and in the vein of jokes that are just for me – like the Galaxy Quest reference in strip #49 – Red Guardian’s exclamation as Sunfire destroys the tank is meant to be him quoting Anton Yelchin’s Chekov in the 2009 Star Trek movie. So, if you got that before you read this far, congratulations! We’re probably on the same wavelength a lot of the time.)
