Marvel Short #50 – Election season! (part 10)

Posted on November 8, 2022September 19, 2023 by phil.wrede
At Justin Hammer's Long Island beach house, a HYDRA agent reports to Baron Zemo that the Mayor's lead is purportedly slipping in the election returns.
The credits for the comic strip, citing the Unsplash users whose photographs were the background art, the ownership of Marvel by Disney, the creation of Marvel characters by actual human beings, and the figure photography/script/lettering by me, Phil Wrede.

I mentioned when I started the Election Season shorts that I hoped I’d planned them correctly to be able to line up the election day installment with the actual, real-life election day this year. I obviously did a bad job reading the calendar when I was making my plan, since I’ve had to overstuff my usual every Wednesday release schedule to get them out on time. I had more comics than I thought; what a horrible problem!

I think we can assume that Baron Zemo’s threat to Lt. Governor Gerber was an empty one… for now.

I have a link to the first part of the story up in the top paragraph, but if you want to read the others:

Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

    The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

    The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

    The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
