RANGERS #3 – “Go Go Roommate Crisis!”

Trini, the Yellow Ranger, and Kimberly, the Pink Ranger, stand next to one another somewhat nervously. Trini asks, “Is Andros still asleep?” The title of this comic strip, “R*A*N*G*E*R*S in… ‘Go Go Roommate Crisis!’,” is visible at the top of the image. The R*A*N*G*E*R*S logo is stylized to resemble the logo for the TV show FRIENDS.
On a nearby couch, the Space Ranger Andros is sprawled out, asleep, covered by his cloak. He snores loudly, oblivious to the world around him. “Yep,” Kimberly replies, from off-panel.
Kimberly and Trini lean forward, and dramatically yell, “Andros! Wake up already!!”
Andros jumps straight up off the couch, shouting, “Whoa! We’re under attack!”
Andros lands in a superhero pose, pulling out his sword, and declaring, “I swear, if it’s Ecliptor again…”
Kimberly holds out her hand. “Calm down, bud!” she says. Andros replies, “Oh! Kimberly! Trini! What’s up, guys?”
“We’re worried about you!” Kimberly says. “All you ever seem to do is sleep!” Trini adds. Andros holds his hands up to his helmeted head in frustration.
Andros flops back on the couch, saying, “It’s Lord Zedd! He released a monster in my dreams, and I’m constantly fighting it!” He begins to cry.
Kimberly and Trini turn to one another, uncertain. “Well, I don’t know what to do about that, do you?” Kimberly asks. “No,” Trini says. “I wish Billy wasn’t on vacation.”
The credits for this comic strip, including the photographer whose picture provided some of the background, the use of fonts by Blambot, acknowledgement of the creators and owners of both Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and Power Rangers in Space, and that the character photography, script, and lettering were all done by me, Phil Wrede.

After not appearing in the last R*A*N*G*E*R*S strip, Andros makes his return in this installment! I feel a little bad for making a bunch of unfounded assumptions about the leader of the Power Rangers in Space, based exclusively on the cloak with which his action figure was outfitted, but you can’t control how inspiration strikes, can you?
