All-New, All-Seasonal Avengers #70 – ‘You Better Not Cry’

In front of his monster truck that barricades the holiday streets of New York City, Baron Zemo and one of his HYDRA agents pose intimidatingly. The title of this comic strip, “All-New, All-Seasonal Avengers Presents… ‘You Better Not Cry’,” is visible at the top of the image.

Domino and the Black Cat work to put their differences aside, as Zemo orders his flunkies to attack them.

The Black Cat tries to explain why she agreed to work to undermine Domino’s campaign for mayor, as they each beat up onrushing HYDRA agents.

As Domino and the Black Cat knock down still more HYDRA agents, Zemo orders a nearby flunky with a big gun to open fire on them. Black Cat admits that she only recently learned that the company whose process imbued her with her “bad luck” powers was a HYDRA subsidiary.

Getting hit by the gunfire causes Black Cat and Domino to stumble, but before HYDRA can press its advantage, everybody notices a strange shape approaching from the sky…

The android Jocasta carries She-Hulk through the air, and drops her in the middle of the fracas.

She-Hulk makes a bunch of puns related to holiday shipping as she beats up most of the rest of the HYDRA goons.

She-Hulk tells Black Cat and Domino to take off, that she and Jocasta can finish off the remaining HYDRA agents.

As Black Cat and Domino get ready to make a break for it, Baron Zemo calls the Shocker into action.

Would superheroes ever make the time to talk, if not for fights against overmatched hordes of enemies? I’m thinking… no.

That Baron Zemo – he sure is doing his best Batman ’66 villain impression here, don’t you think? He ordered his henchmen to “leave no witnesses” when he has them get in a fight with superheroes, in a public place, during the day, after they’ve driven up in a monster truck designed to look like a fish skeleton. He didn’t exactly think through the finest details of this plan!

I bet She-Hulk is glad to get to step out from behind her desk and solve some problems the old-fashioned way, and get to make some action movie-style quips, to boot!
