Star Wars – A Mandalorian, Episode XI: As Above, So Below

The heavy Mandalorian and R5 explore the forests of the planet Gorsan. The title of this comic strip, “Episode XI: As Above, So Below,” is visible at the top of the image.
As they carefully creep along, the heavy Mandalorian hears a loud shrieking sound in the distance, one he’s unhappy to recognize.
An aged Trade Federation battle droid patrols in the sky on a speeder, searching for something.
The Mandalorian and R5 run for cover; the droid detects their movement and closes the distance between them.
They hide before the droid in the sky can find them, but they stumble right into another battle droid, patrolling on foot.
The battle droid draws its blaster rifle, demanding the Mandalorian and R5 surrender.
The Mandalorian is not at all intimidated by one Trade Federation battle droid.
The heavy Mandalorian lifts his enormous blaster rifle and, with innumerable shots, blows the droid to pieces.
The Mandalorian and R5 wonder how these battle droids found their way to Gorsan, for the battles of the Clone Wars never reached this world.
The credits of the comic strip, identifying where the stock photographs (for backgrounds) were sourced, the use of stock visual effects from Action VFX, crediting George Lucas for creating Star Wars, and identifying me (Phil Wrede) as the scriptwriter, character photographer, and letterer of the comic.

When I said I was taking a break from my Star Wars toy comic after its last installment, I didn’t really expect to take about a year and a half off from it, but life (and inspiration) sure find ways to pull you in unanticipated directions. My Mandalorian and R5 are back, at least for now, and I hope you enjoy their latest visit!
