All-New, All-Intelligent Avengers #147 – ‘Are Hiding in Your Room’

Posted on July 24, 2024July 24, 2024 by phil.wrede
Inside the Baxter Building, the headquarters of the Fantastic Four, Kl’rt, the Super-Skrull, the shapeshifting king of the Negative Zone, shakes his fist and declares, “You will yield to the strength of the Negative Zone, or there shall be war!” The title of this comic, “All-New, All-Intelligent Avengers Presents… ‘Are Hiding in Your Room’,” is visible at the top of the image.
Reed Richards and Sue Storm-Richards face off against the Super-Skrull; he strikes with his right arm in a grotesque parody of Reed’s stretching power. Sue forms a shield of invisible force and deflects the attack!
While the battle rages, the enflamed Johnny Storm and ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Kate Neville converse about her recent departure from S.H.I.E.L.D., and the FF-related reasons why.
Johnny turns his flame powers off; Kate explains that she needs to go back to the Negative Zone, to bring the bodies of her fallen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents back home.
Reed and Sue prepare for a renewed battle with the Super-Skrull, while Johnny and Kate arrive at an understanding.
In another corner of New York City, atop a different roof, the android Avenger Jocasta lands, to catch her (proverbial) breath following her escape from Justin Hammer’s basement dungeon. She looks over her shoulder, and sees the black-suited Spider-Man, web-swinging close behind her.
Spider-Man gently lands on his feet, and Jocasta tells him that she anticipates having to fight Hammer’s forces side-by-side, together, again. Spider-Man is not excited about this.
On the street below, the gangster Hammerhead, a Doombot, and the super-criminal Scorpion race toward their location. Spider-Man’s spider sense goes off, as if to add insult to injury.
Spider-Man sends a radio signal to nearby Avengers Frog-Man, Black Widow, and Ironheart.

So, after last week’s vacation-inspired detour into ROGERS, a standalone Captain America adventure (which could become a whole other ongoing project unto itself, depending on how much time I can set aside to work on it), we’re back to the main story in the Phil Wrede Marvel Action Figure Comic Universe! Justin Hammer’s lazy trend-grubbing money grab really has spiraled out of control, hasn’t it? There’s no way even a billionaire is going to escape accountability for kidnapping an Avenger and trying to steal her brain, right?

Right?

Like always, if you’re coming to this arc of the story fresh, welcome, and please, feel free to check out the links below, to get yourself caught up!

  • Part One (wherein we visit the Negative Zone, and New Mexico, and Long Island!)
  • Part Two (wherein terrible foes make a fresh, unwelcome alliance!)
  • Part Three (wherein the Beast and Jocasta both take action!)
  • Part Four (wherein Jocasta escapes, and Kate Neville infiltrates!)

Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
