Batman’s Tea!

Posted on March 10, 2022December 23, 2023 by phil.wrede
In the Batcave (a playset from the Batman ’66 TV series), Alfred Pennyworth, Batman’s butler, attempts to hand him a mug, saying, “I brought you some tea, sir.” Batman does not even look at Alfred as he raises his hand and replies, “I’m too busy, Alfred.”
Alfred attempts to insist, and says, “I don’t want you catching a cold, Master Bruce!” Angrily, Batman turns to face Alfred and barks back, “How dare you!”
Advancing on his butler furiously, Batman growls, “I need only my mission to keep me - “ He’s interrupted by Alfred, who tantalizingly promises, “It’s Earl Grey.”
Batman has taken the mug from Alfred, and sips it. Alfred says, “Captain Picard’s favorite, and yours… Would you like your sandwich?” In between sips, Batman answers, “Make it so.”
The credits for this comic strip, listing the original creators of each character and series, the use of fonts by Blambot, and the photography, script, and lettering, which were done by me, Phil Wrede.

Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
