Marvel Short #8 – Pet Avenger

Posted on March 29, 2021September 17, 2023 by phil.wrede
Thor leaves his pet dog, Tanngrisnir, in the care of the Black Widow while he has to leave the planet on a mission. He plays fetch with the dog by throwing his enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, and the dog releases a huge charge of electricity as it chases after Mjolnir.
The credits for the comic strip, citing the Unsplash users whose photographs were the background art, the ownership of Marvel by Disney, and the figure photography/script/lettering by me, Phil Wrede.

My wife has been just exceedingly supportive of my allowing this toy comic hobby to consume my spare time, to the point of finding and buying interesting little accessories for me to include. Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
