Marvel Short #35 – “Behold, My Stuff!” (part 1)

Posted on May 4, 2022September 18, 2023 by phil.wrede
Skurge (at action figure height and scale) attempts to impress Tigra with some of "his stuff," including a mini Twix bar, a white out tape dispenser, and a small American flag. Tigra is not impressed by any of this.
The credits for the comic strip, citing the Unsplash users whose photographs were the background art, the ownership of Marvel by Disney, the creation of Marvel characters by actual human beings, and the figure photography/script/lettering by me, Phil Wrede.

Skurge is absolutely one of my favorite MCU characters (played, helpfully, by one of my favorite actors, Karl Urban – I ask again, where is my Dredd sequel/TV series?). Welcome to PizzaRat dot Net, where I (Phil Wrede) post my toy comics!

The Idea

Comics, but with photos, instead of drawings.

The Process

Using stock photos as backgrounds, and digitally pasting photos of action figures over them. Graphic design software enables the lettering.

The Point

To make comics, to share stories, and to retroactively justify all the money I've spent on action figures over the years.
